Making a difference everyday.

Tom Wroe

The Tom Wroe and HAMDU Units offer 15 separate beds and cater for our most complex service users. The nature of the individuals living on these units and the approach to their support necessitates a minimum of 1:3 (staff : service user ratio) staffing to ensure their safety and enable progress toward outcomes.

Who we support

  • Adults aged 18 and over.
  • Primary diagnosis of a neurological disorder or illness, either organic or traumatic, including neurodegenerative disorders such as fronto-temporal dementias.
  • Associated distressed or 'challenging' behaviours including mental illness.
  • Complex presentations requiring a specialised environment, structured but individualised approach and high staffing levels.

  • "I just wanted to say an huge thank you for everything you have done for my aunt. The care and love she received with you was above and beyond. You are all outstanding professionals, but also you realise the fundamentals of living a good life, in whatever stage, which is friendship, company and love. What I witnessed I will never forget. Any person in your care should consider themselves lucky and privileged"

  • Geoff has only been on the unit since December 2017 but the change in him is amazing. The unit is so homely and welcoming. He seemed to settle down there very quickly and has adapted to the environment well. The whole staff are so kind and considerate, not only to him, but also to us all as his family. Our only regret is that it took us so long to be aware of Helme Hall's existence and to get Geoff transferred into their care! We were anxious for a better quality of day to day life for him and we've certainly found the key!
